Jonathan Page has teamed up with some friends to create cyclocrosstours.com, a new tour company specializing in bringing the best of the Belgian cross scene to American fans. From the site:
Jonathan Page, 3x ex-American Champion and his wife Cori have spent several winters in Belgium for cyclo-cross. Jonathan has been working hard to develop a career in cyclo-cross, with a lot of sacrifices and will-power… So far, he reached some amazing results. He is the first American cyclocross rider to compete consistently among our top-riders. Last year, he finished top-10 at the World Championships in Zeddam.
Every year, Jonathan and Cori get more and more requests from people who would like to come over and spend some time at the races. Slowly the idea grew into this new tour company. We think it will be a great solution… especially for American cycling fans.
It looks like they are offering two trips, both of which take you to several of the biggest races in the world and include:
- Airport transportation on arrival- and departure day.
- Accommodation in nice hotels in one of the bigger cities of Belgium: Antwerp, Bruges, Oudenaarde, …
- Breakfast each morning with a big variety of Belgian specialties and pastry.
- Dinner with specific Belgian meals in different restaurants of high standard.
- One night dinner with famous cyclist(s).
- A visit to the Tour of Flanders Bike Museum.
- Transportation to the cyclo-cross races (free entries and VIP treatment at some of the races.)
- The possibility for the masters to do master races.
- Support from technical staff: mechanic/soigneur.
- Bikes will be maintained by professional mechanics, massage treatment for riders and spouses!!
The first package takes you to the big pro races in Loenhout, Middelkerke, Diegem, Baal, and Sint-Niklaas. The “World Champion Series” trip takes you to see all the world championship races, including the masters, juniors, U23, women, and men. Pretty much a dream vacation for the cyclocross fan. Now I just have to get the time off work and dig up the 3k!
