Seen on the streets of Portland: Vertical Canyon

Portland, Oregon is world renown as a testing ground for cross equipment, and a hotbed of cyclocross innovation. Not to be outdone by the myriad of local custom builders, Vertical has unleashed it’s first cyclocross offering to the mean streets of PDX: the Canyon. It’s a well thought out product, with several notable features:

  • “Quick Pit” kickstand. Stand your Vertical up in the pit with the kickstand, and make quick clean exchanges. No pit bitch needed.
  • Hillsboro inspired TT style aero fork. Get the aero edge on courses that have long flat asphalt sections.
  • Rainier inspired tripple chairing with granny gear. Climb that hill.
  • Krugers inspired derailleur protector pie-plate. Deflects corn husks with ease.
  • Downtube gusset for steep drops and ditch riding. No more folded top tubes!
  • Canti Brakes for supreme mud clearance. A cyclocross essential.
  • Slick tires for exceptional mud clearance. Also useful for those flatter races with asphalt sections.
  • Ergonomic stem mounted shifters, so you don’t lose the sprint like Bart Wellens.

Look for Vertical to demo the Canyon at the next Portland based bicycle show.
