Let me take a moment to direct ya’ll to this classic piece of PDX vs Seattle smack happening on the cross crusade forum. Does the Seattle Lapierre rider illegally run outside the barriers to get ahead, or was he forcibly pushed out Portland’s elite?

Looks to me like he was practically outside the barriers from the first step, so he was already skating on thin ice. A stiff wind could have blown him out of bounds. Was anyone at fault? Does anyone care? Where’s my lunch?

Ah, memories of Cross Crusade forum smack talk and the Seattle vs. Portland rivalry. All in good fun, except some people take it a bit too seriously.
Glad to see they still do the six pack too!
Had I realized the cones were that far off, I would have rode through!

“Waaaarrrrrriiiorsss, come out to pla-ay!”
Agree with you Brian – no one cares – but it reminded me of the classic Warriors movie.
yeah, round these parts if it isn’t taped and staked you can ride where ever you want. But in general most people like the barriers enough to respect them… they just ignore flags and cones if there is a shorter clean line…
stakes and tape… stakes and tape…
cones… cones are soooooo lame (east coast racer bias is seeping into my PacNW soul)
